The latest set, Crimson Vow, is out! I participated in two types of drafts; below recaps both.
1) Traditional Draft
Here, you draft (with other players, not AI) and play three best-of-3 matches. This was my first time playing best-of-3 format; I prefer individual games. In my three matches, I went 1-2, but my overall game record was 4-5 (1-2, 1-2, 2-1). My white-blue deck wasn't very effective, though I always won the first game of a match.
1 Inspired Idea (VOW) 641 Valorous Stance (VOW) 421 Fleeting Spirit (VOW) 141 Heron-Blessed Geist (VOW) 191 Resistance Squad (VOW) 321 Vampire Slayer (VOW) 431 Scattered Thoughts (VOW) 742 Parish-Blade Trainee (VOW) 291 Estwald Shieldbasher (VOW) 112 Lunar Rejection (VOW) 671 Twinblade Geist (VOW) 401 Repository Skaab (VOW) 731 Stitched Assistant (VOW) 811 Cruel Witness (VOW) 551 Unholy Officiant (VOW) 411 Distracting Geist (VOW) 91 Soulcipher Board (VOW) 791 Gryff Rider (VOW) 151 Serpentine Ambush (VOW) 771 Syncopate (VOW) 831 Dreadlight Monstrosity (VOW) 571 Traveling Minister (VOW) 398 Island (VOW) 3998 Plains (VOW) 398
2) Premier Draft
Here, you draft (with other players, not AI) and play individual games until you hit 3 losses. I prefer this format. I started strong (3-0) before flaming out and finishing 4-3. My black-red 'blood token' deck was pretty powerful, but apparently susceptible to green (my three losses where to GB, GW, and GU decks, respectively).
1 Hero's Downfall (VOW) 1201 Falkenrath Celebrants (VOW) 1563 Bloodcrazed Socialite (VOW) 961 Sanguine Statuette (VOW) 1771 Blood Petal Celebrant (VOW) 1462 Ragged Recluse (VOW) 1271 Wedding Invitation (VOW) 2601 Undying Malice (VOW) 1341 Bloodvial Purveyor (VOW) 981 Falkenrath Forebear (VOW) 1112 Persistent Specimen (VOW) 1251 Lacerate Flesh (VOW) 1661 Reckless Impulse (VOW) 1741 Sure Strike (VOW) 1791 Abrade (VOW) 1391 Bleed Dry (VOW) 941 Doomed Dissenter (VOW) 1061 Pointed Discussion (VOW) 1261 Desperate Farmer (VOW) 1041 Blood Fountain (VOW) 951 Bloody Betrayal (VOW) 1477 Mountain (VOW) 4018 Swamp (VOW) 400
Overall
The set seems fun for black, red, and green. I'm not sold on white and the 'training' ability. Blue seems good only when paired with black or green.
